I am an Assistant Professor at Amherst College in the Department of Psychology and Program in Neuroscience.
Before coming to Amherst, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT working with Nancy Kanwisher in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Science and the McGovern Institute for Brain Research.I did my PhD at Harvard University with Ken Nakayama and George Alvarez. Before that, I did my undergrad at Tufts University working with Daniel Dennett.
My research focuses on understanding the limits of cognition. Specifically, how does the functional organization of the brain determine what we can consciously perceive and hold in memory? I examine these questions using functional neuroimaging (fMRI), psychophysics, and computational modeling.
